TELL ME WHEN YOU ARRIVE
AND I’LL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE...
Do you remember when was the first time you climbed a tree? And when was the last time you saw the sky so close behind branches and green leaves? At Le Pianacce Camp, children play in tree houses.
Here, at sunset a light breeze stirs the tops of trees. All around, the stillness is broken only by the chirping of cicadas and birds singing.
Down the lane there is Le Pianacce Camp, behind it, the village of Castagneto Carducci overlooking it like a silent giant. Once you cross the threshold of this place, the winter will seem a distant memory.
We stayed for 10 nights (booked through Selectcamp) and loved it here- was great for the kids too.Yes as others have said it is steep and we had a mobile home near the top of the site so there was a bit of a walk but that had the bonus of us being in a nice secluded spot with a great view. Even though this is a biggish campsite it is spread out enough that it doesn't feel too rammed or busy apart from around the pool area at times.Kids enjoyed the pool and the new splash park and the trips to the beach and a little bit of the kids club stuff they did.We didn't have a car and a taxi to the nearest train station was quite expensive so were a bit limited on day trips- we did Pisa & Lucca in a day. That said if we had a hire car we would have still done these trips by train as the trains are cheap and reliable. On site there is a restaurant that is reasonable priced and the food is good plus a supermarket that carries enough of a range to allow us to cook ourselves. Well worth the walk up the hill to Castagneto Carducci as that is a lovely town with a great range of restaurants. Just remember a torch for the way back!Found staff in the main very helpful and pleasant.Overall a great holiday and seriously considering going back next year but will take a hire car.
